Participation in the 2024 Sustainable Composite Design Competition

On January 11, 2024, a meeting was held with Prof. Olesia Zhupanska, President of the American Society for Composites (https://www.asc-composites.org/), regarding the participation of undergraduate and graduate students from Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute in the 2024 Sustainable Composite Design Competition.

Such competitions encourage teams of students to apply their knowledge of composite materials to the design, creation, and modeling of structures. Participation in the competition gives students the opportunity to interact with students and professionals outside their university and beyond their country’s borders.

Prof. Zhupanska briefed the participants on current trends in the application of composite materials and shared her experience from last year’s competition. Students had the opportunity to ask questions and discuss the specifics of participating in the competition with the team from the “Aircraft Engineering Education Renovation” (uCAREER) project.

The “Aircraft Engineering Education Renovation” (uCAREER) project is implemented under the “Small Grants for Public Diplomacy – EDUCATION 2023” Program with the sponsorship of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine (the U.S. Department of State, the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine).
