New certification program: “Mechanical Engineering Technologies from ProgressTech-Ukraine”

As part of the implementation of the “Aircraft Engineering Education Renovation” (uCAREER) project a new certificate program, “Mechanical Engineering Technologies from ProgressTech-Ukraine,” has been developed for first-cycle (bachelor’s) students in the “Mechanical Engineering Technologies” program under the 131 Applied Mechanics major at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.
This certificate program was created in collaboration with leading experts from ProgressTech-Ukraine and faculty members at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, who are partners in the project, It aligns with the priorities of the State Targeted Scientific and Technical Program for the Development of the Aviation Industry for 2021–2030 and is implemented with elements of a dual-track higher education model.
The goal of the certificate program is to deepen fundamental knowledge and develop specialized knowledge, skills, and competencies in mechanical engineering technology, characterized by a high level of production automation and the widespread use of CNC machines, and, in particular, the machining of composite and special materials.
On March 18, 2024, during the period when higher education students exercise their right to freely choose their educational components, a meeting was held between students and a representative of ProgressTech-Ukraine, one of the authors of the certificate program, Maksym Gladskyi, during which the certificate program “Mechanical Engineering Technologies from ProgressTech-Ukraine” was presented, its curriculum was outlined, and information was provided regarding the enrollment process for this certificate program.
The “Aircraft Engineering Education Renovation” (uCAREER) project is being implemented under the “Small Grants for Public Diplomacy – EDUCATION for 2023” Program with the sponsorship of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine (the U.S. Department of State, the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine).
