Meeting with the organizers of the 2024 Sustainable Composite Design Competition

On January 18, 2024, an online meeting was held with the organizers of the 2024 Sustainable Composite Design Competition, during which they explained the competition rules and the specifics of its organization.

The participants discussed the technical specifications with the organizers.

Within two weeks after the meeting, a multidisciplinary team from Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute was formed and registered, consisting of undergraduate and graduate students from the Educational and Scientific Institute of Mechanics and Machine Building and a graduate student from the Faculty of Management and Marketing.

For nearly two months, the team has been working on a project to develop a renewable power generation system (RPGS) using recycled composites for remote deployment to provide electricity following disasters such as fires, floods, migration, civil unrest, or war.

The system concept will soon be presented at an online meeting with the competition organizers and other teams.

The “Aircraft Engineering Education Renovation” (uCAREER) project is being implemented under the “Small Grants for Public Diplomacy – EDUCATION 2023” Program with the sponsorship of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine (the U.S. Department of State, the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine).
