“Future of Ukraine” 2019
The Second All-Ukrainian Festival of Engineering Talents "Future of Ukraine" 2019 was launched under the auspices of the Association of Rectors of Higher Educational Institutions of Ukraine and the St. Volodymyr Charitable Foundation.

On May 17, 2019, ten winners of the All-Ukrainian festival “Future of Ukraine” were announced. These are students from Ukrainian higher education institutions — future engineers. The main prize of the competition is a trip to the United States to visit the production facilities of the Boeing corporation.
The organizers of the event were the Saint Volodymyr Charitable Foundation and the Association of Rectors of Higher Technical Educational Institutions of Ukraine, with the participation of companies Progresstech-Ukraine, Tucana Engineering Ukraine, and Boeing Ukraine.
Participants of the competition could be students from any Ukrainian university who study in technical fields and enjoy нестандартні creative challenges.
This year, more than 200 students from 10 cities across Ukraine took part in the first selection stage — an online test.
The next stage involved solving an engineering problem and took place simultaneously in two Ukrainian cities (Kyiv and Kharkiv). Ninety contestants from 19 universities participated in the second round in pursuit of their dreams.
Only 30 participants advanced to the finals.
In the final stage, they worked on preparing and defending a comprehensive assignment designed to explore a range of engineering topics, specifically to develop a design for an above-ground, multi-story automated parking garage under constrained conditions.
All five teams successfully presented their joint projects and also defended their individual presentations in English.
This year, the jury included the rector of Igor Sikorsky KPI, M.Z. Zgurovsky; the chairman of the board of “UkrNDIAT,” G.O. Kryvov; NAU professor A.O. Antonova; academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine I.V. Kryvtsun; and the head of the training department at Boeing Ukraine, V. Danilenko.
The 2019 winners were:
1. Julian Salo (Lviv Polytechnic National University, Lviv)
2. Olena Vol (I. Franko National University of Lviv, Lviv)
3. Daria Zuhan (Kharkiv National University of Building and Architecture, Kharkiv)
4. Yuli Tkachov (Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute, Kharkiv)
5. Roman Trigubov (Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, Kyiv)
6. Oleksandr Matyash (Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, Kyiv)
7. Vladislav Polyakov (Kharkiv Aviation Institute, Kharkiv)
8. Andriy Hlybchenko (Kharkiv Aviation Institute, Kharkiv)
9. Vladislav Neverov (Kharkiv National University of Civil Engineering and Architecture, Kharkiv)
10. Mykhailo Dovhopolyi (Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, Kyiv).
This fall, they will travel to the United States, where they will visit the facilities of the world’s largest aerospace corporation, Boeing (Seattle, USA).
An unexpected surprise for all guests was the decision by the management of the St. Vladimir Charitable Foundation to award all finalists who did not receive the grand prize a one-time, personalized scholarship in the amount of 5,000* UAH.
As a reminder, the All-Ukrainian Festival of Engineering Talent “Future of Ukraine” is held annually. Its main goal is to promote the development of engineering education, popularize the engineering profession, and support talented youth.
